Since I'm in a good mood, imagining about some of the amazing things I wrote in my GG!DRA and feeling nostalgic about it, I felt like making a "self-interview" or basically FAQs about the development of my Zatch Bell! fanfiction titled
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army. Anything that is already said in my
Main Zatch Bell! Journal won't be included in this journal (and I'm near the character limit in that journal anyway). This will be fun to write!
If you guys would like to interview me, post your thoughts or questions down below! But please, positive or neutral questions and thoughts only. Let's make this a happy interview if you want to interview me on what hasn't been said.
WARNING: This journal will have spoilers to my fanfiction and some of them are spoilers to the original anime/manga.Q: What inspired you to make Golden Gash!!: Demon Revolution Army? Also, why the title "Golden Gash" instead of Zatch Bell! or Konjiki no Gash!!?A-1: Well, the
Zatch Bell! anime/manga series of course. I made this fanfic since Makoto Raiku completed his series and moved on. I once tried making a
Naruto fanfic called
Naruto: Ryūden (Dragon Chronicles) while
Naruto Shippuden was on-going at the time aaaaaand that turned out to be a bad idea since my fan story was ruined in the fan continuity. lol, I had a Gaia Online Guild based on it but I shut down and umm... I just now remembered I replaced another one of my other Gaia guilds to be a
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army guild but I haven't done anything to it yet (and I will never do anything about it, lol). But I digress.
A-2: But the title was already answered the
FAQs of my main journal. Well, I could have called it something different like
Golden Raiden/Konjiki no Raiden or
Lightning and Rain could have worked for the most part but that wouldn't work for
The Fallen King story arcs since my main OC's don't exist in that arc except for being mentioned.
Q: How did you get into Zatch Bell!/Konjiki no Gash!!/Konjiki no Gash Bell!!A: Okay, a non-GG!DRA question to start things off, but this will be fun to answer. Well, it was on Cartoon Network's Toonami block back in 2005. What caught my interest was the main character using electrical powers and in popular media, lightning/electricity manipulation is my favorite power. And then when I saw Kiyo/Kiyomaro and Zatch/Gash summoning an electrical dragon spell, that made me even more excited since dragons are my favorite mythical creature. The TDP within my username is Thunder Dragon Productions, which is my business alias. Anyway, I got back into the series around 2010/2011 the first time I re-watched the anime and 2014 the second time and after the second re-watch along with some read of the manga, I had so many things going on in my head. I had a huge imagination and I decided I wanted to share some of my imagination in fanfic form. Thus
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army was born!
Zatch Bell! isn't my favorite anime/manga series, but I do fanboy over it whenever I see it brought up by someone else on the Internet (mostly because most people don't talk about it and has a small, active fanbase).
Q: Who is your favorite heroic OC and why? And how were they inspired?A: Well, I am biased towards my main OC's
Raiden Bell and
Rain Bell. Raiden Bell, he is your generic hyper-active fighting-loving main protagonist just like character such as Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto, Yusuke Urameshi from
Yu Yu Hakusho, Son Goku from
Dragon Ball/Z/GT/Super, Natsu Dragneel from
Fairy Tail, but my inspiration originally came from Marcus Damon/Masaru Daimon from
Digimon Data Squad/Savers. Despite his knuckle-headedness, he is very protective of his little brother Rain Bell and his family. Rain Bell is very shy and is a peace-lover (opposite to his brother) and despite being a prince, he has been bullied in school (and Raiden would protect him from bullies regardless of age or appearance). Opposite they may be, they really love each other and it helps their chemistry. While Raiden Bell doesn't really go through character development (and only through power development), Rain Bell slowly goes through character development from being a shy coward to a courageous king, but I wish I could have done more with him. I wanted to make Rain to be the "Kid Gohan" of my fanfic.
Q: Who is your favorite villainous/antagonistic OC and why? And how were they inspired?A: ZAAAA-HAHAHAHA!!!
Dr. Zulu, the former 7th Death General of the Demon Revolution Army and the
self-proclaimed Emperor of the Zulu Empire. I love scientific villains like Dr. Eggman from
Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Wily from
Mega Man so I made a mad demonic scientist based on them (but especially based on Dr. Wily while Dr. Zulu's
cybernetic armor spell would be based on Mega Man and his incarnations). The existence of my Dr. Wily would contain a plot hole if involved with the story of the
Zatch Bell! Attack of Mechavulcan film since Dr. M2 from that movie states that he was the only one studying magic science. My fanfiction treats
Zatch Bell! Attack of Mechavulcan as an alternate universe (or at least
Attack of Mechavulcan's future as an alternate timeline).
Q: Who is your least favorite OC and why?A: Probably
Zarpi..... Just Zarpi, the 8th Death General..... I can't think of any reasons why. Hard for me to describe it. Maybe I just made her so bland. She was definitely the weakest of the 8 Death Generals of the Revolution Army (no reason for me to hate her because of that). And I also feel that she's most forgettable.
EDIT: [SPOILERS] I forgot she was the one that helped Zecross mind-controlled the Four Great Demon Lords of the Netherworld, which what mighty impressive things to Dr. Zulu. But then, poor Zarpi. You've done your part. lol She was better than I remembered.
Q: Why did you expand and remake your fanfic? And why make alternate versions of the chapters?A-1: I originally wanted to make my fanfiction series to be 15 chapters long and I made a
rushed epilogue with a huge time skip (that could possibly lead up to a sequel). A month later, I decided to fill in the gaps,
[SPOILERS] starting with the
prevention of a war in the past timeline as that needed to be resolved. After coming up with new ideas I thought from
Binsfeld's classification of demons, Roman/Greek Mythology, and Asian Mythology, I decided to create a whole new world in my fan universe called Spirit World as an afterlife world (also taking inspiration from
Yu Yu Hakusho's Spirit World and
Dragon Ball Z's Other World) with
Zecross (the 2nd leader of the Demon Revolution Army) coming back from the dead as the main antagonist of the
new, extended arc of Chapter 15 to fill in the gaps. I created three realms for Spirit World including Paradise (which is basically "Heaven" for good demons/mamodos to live in freedom), Spirit World Kingdom (a mid-plane divine kingdom for neutral and mixed-deeded demons/mamodos that basically lives a normal, everyday life in the divine world), and Netherworld (which is basically you-know-what for bad demons/mamodos where they get tortured for their sins). The first deities I created were the
archdemons ("archdevils" in the remake)/Four Great Demon Lords of the Netherworld and mixed the names of each demonic princes, giving the infernal gods the traits of their sins. As for the Four Great Angelic Saints of Paradise (the archangel counterparts) and their King (as well as the Netherworld's King, I was determining if I want to use Greek God names or Roman God names (I actually love Greek Mythology as I read
Iliad and
The Odyssey when I was in middle school) and because I feel Greek Mythology was used in more medias (like the
God of War franchise), I decided to use the Roman God names. Well, before I used their Roman God names, I was thinking of mixing the Japanese names of the seven virtues that opposed every seven deadly sins I used and ehhhh, it didn't come out well. But the mixed seven virtues I already set up actually fit each Roman God I used pretty well. As for the Supreme God of Spirit World/Spirit World Kingdom's King, I used the Asian God of Death Yama/Enma (who is also used in popular media like
Yu Yu Hakusho and
Dragon Ball Z's afterlives) as the leader of the Gods who judges your placement in Spirit World. Anyway, I wanted to build up a possible apocalypse within the Demon World/Makai/Mamodo World. Writing that arc was actually pretty hard to do and resolve the first time around. I had many breaks writing it.
A-2: The reason I remade my
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army fanfiction series was because, while I was satisfied with my abilities as a new writer (well, I did once tried making a Naruto fanfic and made a Gaia Online guild about it, but I discontinued it since the series was on-going, but I digress), I wasn't satisfied with everything I wrote (plus, there were still plenty of grammar errors). At first, I was only going to remake the first chapter since the
first chapter in my original version was lacking any depth content since I wanted to get into the good stuff and there wasn't much for me to write about in the first original chapter. A month later, I made the decision to waste more time of my life remaking my whole fanfiction in greater depth with some new changes, like
[SPOILERS] making Kolulu to be the aunt of my main OC's by being married to Zeon while Zeon was single in my original version. I found the pairing to be interesting after seeing fanart after I finished my fanfic the first time. And I didn't really like the order I made for Dr. Zulu's invasion in the original since I was going back and forth with time travel/world hopping. In the original, Dr. Zulu attacked Demon World's past first, then returned to the future to attack the Human World (thus, the protagonists were also hopping back and forth) and be defeated in the Human World. In the remade version, I moved the chapters around and made Dr. Zulu attacked the Human World first (he escapes his defeat this time), then attacks the past after the characters prevented the war in the past. In the remade version, that's when I created Dr. Zulu's new
Dembot Masters (his most powerful robots and I did based one of them on the
Devil-type robots in
Mega Man).
A-3: [SPOILERS] I made alternate versions of a few chapters to give my fanfic more drama and that the good guys don't always win. Though I have thought of some alt versions for some chapters I wanted to write a long time ago never got to, like Zega destroying Demon World with his most powerful, but that would end in an instant "THE END" bad ending, lol. Writing the alt chapters in regards to the loss of Penny/Patie actually made me cry writing them. I actually cried writing scenes for those chapters because it was hitting me hard as I was imagining the scenes. Those alts were the saddest things I ever wrote but too bad they don't actually happen in the main story. lol
Q: What types of content would you allow in your fanfic? [Updated December 19, 2018 and May 13, 2019]
A-1: Ahh, okay.
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army is a dark story (and was meant to be).
[SPOILERS] Romance (secondary), drama, intense violence/gore (primarily; at least on
Dragon Ball Z's and
One-Punch Man's level), tragedy.
A-2 (added May 13, 2019): To see an extensive answer, see the second answer to the question: "
Are you satisfied with the remake of your fanfiction? Do you feel like you could have done other things or make any changes?"
Q: How did you organize your fanfic and what inspired you to make each arc and which one was your favorite?A-1: [HEAVY SPOILERS] Well, the term "
Death Generals" came from
Digimon Fusion (seasons 2)/
Digimon Xros Wars: The Evil Death Generals and the Seven Kingdoms. For the first two arcs (which is the full
Demon Revolution War arc), a Death General(s) would be attacking each chapter and be defeated by the heroes. I did not return as a
Power Ranger fan back then but I wonder if I was aiming for that because in
Power Rangers/Super Sentai, it's very cliché where in each episode, they would send a monster to attack a city and the rangers/warriors would destroy them.
A-2: My favorite arc to write was
The Zulu Empire story arc and was the most fun one I made.
[HEAVY SPOILERS] I made Dr. Zulu and his robots to be heavily inspired by the
Mega Man franchise and that's what I was aiming for when creating his arc. I wish I could have made branching paths where the heroes could defeat any
Dembot Guardian in any order (they serve as the "bosses"), but that would be impossible to do in the linearity the story was currently in (but I was able to have a readable order for the
2nd set of Dembot Guardians during the
Revolution from the Dead story arc, but I'll get to there later). Each Dembot Guardians had their own weaknesses like Phoenix was weak to water and Kraken was weak to lightning. In the original version of this arc, there was no
Nekolas or
Haria (I never made them up until
Revolution from the Dead story arc) so, there were no weaknesses for Yeti and Thunderbird's weakness was water at the time (which nullified his absorption to lightning). In the remade version when I brought my new heroic OC's into the action, Yeti's weakness became fire (Nekolas uses fire and took care of him and saved everyone) and Thunderbird's weakness became ice (Haria has ice spells). Then after the four Dembot Guardians are taken out, Dr. Zulu's tower became vulnerable to attack and time for the final showdown with him (in the original as he escapes in the remake after he loses).
A-3: [HEAVY SPOILERS] The original storyline was concluded after that with a big time skip in the epilogue featuring Rain Bell and Tioga's future kids 974 years later about to participate in the next Battle to Determine King for Demon World. The remade storyline doesn't have the final scene or those OC's (there was nowhere for me to put it). Anyway, since there was a big time gap in the epilogue chapter of the original, I decided to extend my fanfic, and you know what it is. I just wanted to make the past timeline to be safe in their future. I kind of enjoyed writing it (kind of) as I was able to go through the Demon Revolution Army again (but before they were formed). And I moved Dr. Zulu's "Attack in the Past" to here in the remade version. That was fun to write!
A-4: [HEAVY SPOILERS] The
Revolution from the Dead arc was a difficult arc to write but I also enjoyed it and I enjoyed creating this afterlife and godlike characters. There were things I didn't get to do that imagined a long time ago but I was still satisfied on how it turned out. This was also the arc where I introduced Nekolas and Haria in the original version. I also introduced the Acolytes of the Nether in a flashback scene in the remake. At first, they were only going to be in the flashback but.....
A-5: [HEAVY SPOILERS] After I completed my remade storyline, I decided to go back into the past to see how the past characters were doing by CREATING A WHOLE NEW WAR! And this time, the new bad guys: The Laughing Deathstock Gang, thanks to the One-Hundred Eyed Iron Titan that they randomly found named
Argus (and yes, this titan is based on a creature in Greek mythology), they conqueror Demon World. Wow, a random crime organization being the one to take over Demon World and the Revolution Army failed... but that was because the Revolution Army announced that they were going to do the war (allowing Demon World Military to prepare) while the Laughing Deathstock Gang made a huge surprise attack without any warning. And then, here comes the Acolytes of the Nether and apocalypse is finally here. Now, there was a lot going on and I spent a lot of months trying to figure out what I wanted to do for this arc and as I wrote chapters and chapters, I was still coming up with new things that could work and I made SO MANY NEW OC's like, HOW MANY OC'S DID I MAKE? This was definitely the most difficult and darkest arc to write after
Revolution from the Dead arc that I've made and after completing it, I was completely satisfied with my fanfiction by late 2017. IT'S...FINALLY...OVER!!! I'VE DONE IT!!!
Q: Why do Makoto Raiku's characters (especially Gash and Zeon) seem weak? [KnG!! MANGA SPOILERS] Clear Note had the power to destroy Demon World yet the bad guys seem weaker than him. And why did Zega have a spell that could destroy planets but never used it (and how did he learn it)? And who's stronger?A-1: So many questions in one!
[HEAVY SPOILERS] Gash and Zeon are still as strong as they are but Raiden was trained by Uncle Zeon himself (and other Royal Knights like Whir and sometimes by his father). Raiden knows his family's fighting styles. However, the power scaling in my fanfic is probably just as bad as
Dragon Ball Super's power scaling for the characters for the sake of the plot. (Power Levels?! What's that?! o.O lol)
A-2: [HEAVY SPOILERS] Zega and
Zecross are more powerful than Clear Note with Zega having a planet-busting spell (Shin Shirairadisu) and Zecross having an insta-killing spell (Shidona Reaper/Riipaa) and I know Clear Note had his own planet-busting spell (well,
his strongest spell was claimed to be able to destroy 1/10 of Planet Earth after combining with it in Chapter 319). Zega just has the common sense not to use his final spell except as a final emergency (but he can use lower power to destroy 1/4th of Demon World). And if you want to know how Zega would learn such a planet-busting spell if he never used it since it would either destroy a planet or himself (and Demon World's military could possibly detect the usage of unforgivable-forbidden spells if it wasn't for Zega and Zecross' ability to hide their energy in a field), Zega actually never properly learned it but he learned about it and that it requires a great balance of light and darkness energies to master it. It's usually a one-and-done spell..... Okay, maybe he did train it in stealth mode and threw it into space to test it.
One could also think that. lol! (But who would see it?)
A-3: [HEAVY SPOILERS] Lord Gul'ren doesn't have such OP spells as his former acolytes have (until he absorbed their souls) but Lord Gul'ren does have the power of the neutral archdevil
Lich, God of Undeath, that Zega and Zecross wouldn't stand a chance against if Gul'ren goes into his Lich King form (since their spells can't harm Spirit World deities). However, even though Gul'ren has unlimited resurrections due to the Lich King's powers, he is vulnerable to those OP spells in his base form as Zega's and Zecross' most powerful spells can actually permanently kill/obliterate Lord Gul'ren (which could be a reason why they learned those spells in the first place, at least it was known for Zecross' spell). Zega's planet-busting Shin Shirairadisu can erase base-form Gul'ren's soul completely upon death, preventing him from resurrecting (and would result in Gul'ren's soul being banished into the Void Beneath the Netherworld since that's where every erased/deleted soul goes to as everything must have a place somewhere) while Zecross' insta-killing Shidona Reaper will force Gul'ren's soul in the Spirit World. They left the Acolytes of the Nether to learn those to be able to overthrow Lord Gul'ren in the future but never encountered the Acolytes of the Nether again ever since their departure. So, who is stronger? Well, that depends on whether or not Lord Gul'ren is in his base form or Lich King form but his black magic and necromancy are still very powerful in his base form. Lord Gul'ren was pretty overpowered having unlimited resurrections plus having the powers of an archdevil.
Q: I know this was asked in the main journal's FAQs but it was not updated after The Fallen King: Who are the real main antagonist(s) of the series?A-0: [HEAVY SPOILERS] Hold on, I'm going to stray off this question for a minute and answer it differently (I'll be glad to answer it down in A-1, so a pre-answer right now)! Since I am still on the topic of Zega and Zecross vs. Lord Gul'ren from the previous question (while eventually answering part of this question),
Zega is the older twin brother and the first co-leader of the Demon Revolution Army (it was his idea in the first place to create the army after they betrayed the Acolytes of the Nether) and while he was the
primary main antagonist of the Demon Revolution War arcs, he was just a red acolyte (just a follower) among the Acolytes of the Nether.
Zecross is the younger twin brother and was the second co-leader of the Demon Revolution Army as the
secondary main antagonist of the Demon Revolution Army arcs, but he eventually became the
main antagonist of the series up until
The Fallen King arcs and he used to be a blue necrolyte of the Acolytes of the Nether (rank higher than the mere red acolytes) due to his necromancy proficiency. Okay, actually staying on the topic of the actual question...
A-1: [HEAVY SPOILERS] When I first wrote my fanfiction series (the original version before I made my expansions), Zega was the primary and the original main antagonist of the whole series (with Zecross only being the secondary main antagonist) and Dr. Zulu as the final main antagonist of the series until I made my expansions when I changed the role of primary main antagonist of the series to Zecross. [I'll stop underlining to make spoilers less obvious] While Lord Gul'ren served as the main antagonist in
The Fallen King story arc for a while, there was still his "Master" Dark Guthorax lurking in the void that was going to be served as the final main antagonist of the series... until I decided to make a PLOT TWIST where someone else was manipulating Dark Guthorax over the millions of years. That's when I thought about making an OC rendition of the Greek Goddess of Injustice Adikia to be the final main antagonist. I'm sure people will be coming up for plot holes on my plot twist (it's possible I made plot holes), but I still wanted to do it.
Q: How did Belphebub, Asmon, Behemoth, and devils appear in the Netherworld after the Netherworld's creation?Q: If you read
The Fallen King story arc, it's revealed in
TFK Chapter 13 that Adikia was the one who birthed the creation of devils: By moral-controlling nephalems and bad demons that they morphed into devils. Well, while I never showed King Hades' full powers, I just thought of something just now (yes, just now as I'm writing this), he has the power to transfer his unholy god-like energy into devils and make them into archdevils and he wants to create archdevils that would oppose the Four Great Angelic Saints. If it's not just him alone, there is also Lucid by himself. That's where Asmon and Behemoth came from (and probably Belphebub). As for Belphebub on how he obtained Nether powers, one of Adikia's nether soul pieces was responsible for that. Well, let's keep that a mystery! I can't reveal all the secrets or would ruin the theories.
Q: Have you ever planned on making games or a dōjinshi based on your fanfic? Or a sequel?A-1: Games, I once (twice) have. I once planned about making a
Mega Man-styled fangame called
Mega Zulu with Dr. Zulu (in a dream) being betrayed by his
Dembot Guardians that were being reprogrammed to destroy him. Dr. Zulu would battle his own creations and use their powers against each other (and each bosses/Dembot Guardians have a weakness order and it's a pretty obvious order for the first 4). But I have at least made a
Mega Man 7-styled select screen! Another fangame I planned was an
RPG remake of my
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army fanfiction series (remade version). To be able to see my full fanfic come into graphics! But that'll take years.
I also once thought about the idea of drawing a fan manga version but that is also a huge time waster.
A-2: Back when I finished writing my
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army the first time (before I planned writing expanded chapters), I thought about making a sequel to my fanfic with Rain Bell's
children 973 (or something) years later as main characters participating in the next Battle to Determine King of Demon World, but it never happened and I'm already busy with a new, non-
Zatch Bell! fanfic. Do one of them become Demon King of the Year 300X? Probably not. I think I once planned on a third-party main character (that would be their ally) to become King of Demon World. A reason why I didn't want to make the sequel is because I don't want to do the same thing the original
Zatch Bell! anime/manga did with a Battle to Become King of Demon World in the Human World with a partner gimmick. But having a non-Bell member King of Demon World would be new since there was already three Bell Kings in a row in my fanfic (with Rain replacing his father Gash's position for the remainder of Gash's duration as King).
Q: Will you be making anymore Zatch Bell! or GG!DRA drawings or do any more ZB! related projects?A: I don't know. Maybe. I know it's been a long time since I last drew anything but ever since I got into making a new fanfic at the very end of 2017 (still working on it), I've mostly moved on from Zatch Bell! (I only came back for a little bit because of fanart I received). I was thinking of doing crossover drawings once I get my new fanfic rolling, but, we'll see. As for any other ZB! projects, I don't think I'll get to my planned fan games into reality, especially since I plan to turn my next fanfic into a future fan game mod for a game... Yes, it's a
Doki Doki Literature Club! fanfic (I didn't want to go off-topic from Zatch Bell! in this journal >.<) and I plan on making a mod version of it. I thought about drawing my
Zatch Bell! OC's in DDLC high school uniforms but that would take a lot of my time away. (This journal already took my whole day away as I expected.)
Okay, okay... That's enough. I spent 2 days writing this journal (I didn't bother linking all of my characters and chapters mentioned). I need a break. If anyone has questions about my fanfic, drop them down below and I'll answer them (bad comments will be removed) but I'll keep some of the mysterious ones to be mysterious just to allow you guys to create fan theories about my fanfic and if you want to be able to theorize something, then don't ask about it in case if I ruin it. If I think of anything interesting about my fanfic to say, I'll list them below here. In the meantime, I got a
DDLC! fanfic to write since I haven't done anything in 3 days and my first chapter is due by the start of 2019. But yeah, this is pretty much "goodbye" from me to the
Zatch Bell! fandom for some time again (well, I'll just be inactive from
Zatch Bell!).
Extras I thought of after first submission
Q: Have you drawn all of your characters? If not, which are missing? [Added November 29, 2018]
A: I drew all of my main characters but I still have side OC's to draw... a lot of them.
[Will have spoilers] There is the Bakery Shopkeeper in
TFK Chapter 3, there is the Royal Knight Roxx (I originally did not give this 12th Royal Knight a name as he was just a flashback-only side character and not a main character like the other), and then there are the DOZENS OF TYPES OF Dr. Zulu's robots including Zulu Bots and Dembots. He has
waaaay too many types of robots, especially among the Dembot series. To see a list of robots he made,
click here. As for who Major General/Sir Roxx is, well, he would have a humanoid appearance (I'm not sure what species I would make him but maybe human-like) and he would wear full armor (grayish teal color), wielding two large chakrams (bladed rings). And then there are all of the minions that serves the Demon Revolution Army's Death Generals, Laughing Deathstock Gangs and affiliations, and the rest of the red acolytes of the Acolytes of the Nether. I did name one of
Zedusa's lizard servants Zu'rig that's in
Remake: Chapter 14. Because I am busy working on my DDLC! project, I don't have time to be drawing these side characters so I hope their descriptions say enough. Even after I finished with this new project, I don't think I'll still draw them.
EDIT (an hour later or so): Actually, there is one thing I want to draw and that's Penny/Patie's new design in
The Fallen King story arc. While she does appear in the
cover art for TFK, I haven't drawn the full look of her new hairstyle.
Q: Kanchomé and Tia/Tio? Really?! [Added December 3, 2018]
A: I'm just sticking to the characters we know. Romantically, I don't really know how this could have been a thing (I came up with a poor explanation in one of the remake's chapters), but I do like the idea if their abilities would be "fused" (not really a genetic thing as any mamodo in their world could probably learn whatever they want). Illusions + Shields. Invisibility walls is an obvious outcome, which was used for
Pancho. However, I did underutilize Pancho's abilities in my fanfic (he could have done more in stealth missions, yet I haven't given him any). Another possible outcome, which I found to be more interesting and useful, is Mirrors, which was used for
Tioga (and that was especially useful against the
6th Death General). Mirrors are commonly used when creating optical illusions.
Q: Why did you pair Zatch/Gash Bell and Penny/Patie? Why not Zatch with any other girl? [Added December 3, 2018]
A: I may be a bit biased as its personally my favorite pairing. I know there are people that prefer Zatch x Tia or Zatch x Kolulu, both of which I had tried to do at least once in each versions. Zatch x Tia in the original version and Zatch x Kolulu in my remade version (but at this point, I wish I did young Zatch x Tia in my
remake's Chapter 16 Alt instead of young Zatch x Kolulu as I had some adult Zatch x Kolulu in the main storyline after the
death of the queen in
Ch. 7 Remake). Penny/Patie may be known to be a yandere in the anime/manga, but I wanted to give her some serious character development. It's obvious that Zatch/Gash is not the romantic type in the original anime/manga and making him one is very difficult and my approach was making him feel lonely, depressed, and unloved, but I still felt like I did a rushed job in the remake doing their initial relationship development (it was only a setup chapter that's mostly skippable). I forgot to mention this in Answer A-2 of "Why did you expand and remake your fanfic?" because writing a better relationship development was another reason why I remade my fanfic. Anyway, electricity and water just has a good chemistry and has a good theme to it. Thunder, Rain, and Lightning. That's what gave birth to Raiden (his name meaning "Thunder and Lightning" in Japanese) and Rain's names. They really make a great pair of brothers with contrasting personalities, which made it a more interesting story for me that if I were to do Zatch x Kolulu or
Zatch x Tia children (which I have done in my original version's
Ch. 15-3 Alt and the
spin-off).
Q: Have you cried writing any of your chapters? [Added December 3, 2018]
A: Yes. Among the first storyline, writing
Chapter 7 and the
Chapter 15-3 Alt made me cry as I was writing them. In the remade storyline, knowing what I was going to write, I thought I was going to stay strong, but I shed a few tears in
Chapter 7 and trying to write
Chapter 16's Alt (counterpart to Ch. 15-3 Alt) destroyed my eyes (not literally, but heavy tears!), making it more dramatic than Chapter 15-3's Alt. Just imagining the scenes alone in my head as I was writing those tragic chapters while listening to sad anime/video game music like
Naruto's "
Sadness and Sorrow" and
Kingdom Hearts II "
Roxas' Theme" really made me tear up. I wasn't sad to write them (actually, I kind of was, but I was also excited to write them), but they were bringing emotions to me when I was trying not to. The feels!
Who knew such imagination can simulate/emulate (which word should I use?) tearing and overwhelming facial emotions. (I resisted from tearing up, writing this question, lol)
Q: Will you be returning to the Zatch Bell! fandom? [Added December 19, 2018]
A: In late November, after receiving fanart, I was going to but things happened and I am much likely less. But I'll still update the
homepage content of the Zatch Bell! Wiki every month (but I'm usually late doing that). By the way, did I forget to mention that I currently adopted that Wiki?
Q: Wait, you own that Wiki? [Added December 19, 2018]
A: As of June 1, 2014, since the other admins were inactive at the time, I was working on that Wiki as a contributor but there were things I couldn't do as a normal contributor (such as blocking vandals who are ruining the Wiki) which is why I adopted the Wiki (but one of the admins did come back in the recent year and I noticed all other admins lost their adminship in the adoption process...I gave it to them back when I was informed). I did a lot of work on that Wiki and updated the Episode Guides and Manga Chapters Guides pages and expanded support of Zatch Bell! cards up until mid-2018. However, the Wiki to this day is still very well incomplete. I'm just one person and I can't create pages for every episode, manga chapter, and trading cards, especially with how busy I am with my other projects. I'm hoping someone can help grow the Wiki for me and I'll be willing to give any hardworking contributors adminship if they prove their worth. If anyone can go through every anime episode and complete Wiki articles based on them or read all manga chapters and make pages for them, they definitely deserve adminship for the amount of work they'll be putting in.
Q: Are fan content allowed on the Zatch Bell Wiki? [Added December 19, 2018]
A: Okay, we are getting a bit off-topic from my fanfic buuut, this is technically still on-topic.
I made a poll some on August 2017 asking people if we should allow fan pages on the Wiki, similar to how the
Digimon Wiki handles fan content. The majority of votes says "no", but to take consideration with the rest of the votes, I'll still allow fan content within user profile pages at the minimum (except for posting fan images but I'm still questioning about the fan scanlations of the ZB! cards on the Wiki). Any fan content found outside someone's profile page or outside the
fanfic forums may be deleted (without warning), but fanfics will be renamed to "Forum:[pagetitle]" and will be given the Fan Fiction category if it hasn't already had it (but it won't show up among the Fan Fiction forum topics for whatever reason).
Q: Do you have a Wiki specifically for Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army [Added December 19, 2018]
A: No, but I thought about making one a couple of times. At the time, I thought about making a Wiki based on my fanfic but that would mean I would have to do a lot more work and writing
character profiles within my ZB! Wiki Profile page was time-consuming enough and it just gets straight to the point on whatever you may be looking for about my characters and returning characters.
Q: Do you ship any of your characters? [Added December 19, 2018]
A: Just the ones that I established in my fanfic. Rain Bell x Tiara, Nekolas x Haria, and the Starlily Sisters x Snapdragon Brothers (minor characters in
The Fallen King arc and I do ship the brothers and sisters in both ways but prefer their original lovers). But I am fine with any fan shipping as long as it's not an old person with a young person, as that makes me very uncomfortable, as well as incest (excluding deities in my fanfic as that was normal/traditional for deities in Roman/Greek mythologies and in some countries..... Boy, was that embarrassing for me write the relation of Mars x Venus in my fanfic... Half-siblings married to each other...
). Haven't really thought about the other divine couples. Even though I'm only making my main man Raiden single, he is often shipped with multiple characters including Pancho, Nekolas, and Haria, which is completely fine.
I still smile when I see these kinds of fanart. Also, I do ship canon characters with canon characters and fan characters with fan characters, which is why there aren't any canon characters with fan characters in my fanfic (but I don't mind if people make fanart between canon x OC).
Q: Do you regret killing or not killing any of your characters or Raiku's characters? [Added January 6, 2019]
A: I don't regret killing any characters in the way they died, even my favorite characters (even in my alt. chapters). Besides, I made a Spirit World for the dead; just because they are dead doesn't mean that no longer have relevance and I made a few dead villains and heroes useful. However, at this point, I wish I killed my main OC Raiden Bell. It probably would have been anti-climatic for him to go out the way he almost did in
Chapter 15-8, but at the same time, it would show how much a threat the Four Great Demons Lords really is, even without using half of their power. But I also wanted to display the power of the archangels, even Venus. Now I'm kind of having mixed feelings on what I should have done for Raiden but I'll stick with what I've written.
Q: Where is the first version of your fanfic? I can't find it on DeviantArt, your Blogger, or FanFiction.NET. [Added February 26, 2022]
A: I've always wanted to archive it since it's kind of pointless to read unless you want to compare it to my remake so instead of deleting it all entirely, I put the DeviantArt version into "storage", backed up all my chapter files of FanFiction.NET and deleted my first version's story on FanFiction.NET afterward (I really wanted to do that a long time ago), and deleted the chapters from my Blogger. Instead, I put my back-ups of them (the superior Blogger/DeviantArt versions as .PDFs + the inferior FanFiction.NET versions as .HTMs) in a
.ZIP archive folder.
Q: An official Zatch Bell!/Konjiki no Gash!! sequel was announced! Are you gonna check it out? What will happen to your fanfic? (Makoto Raiku's teaser - Comicbook News) [Added February 26, 2022]
A: While I am aware, I have no interest in checking it out. I didn't even feel hyped when I heard about it.
As for my
Golden Gash!! Demon Revolution Army fanfic, I purposely made that as a non-canon fan sequel to the original manga's ending (and to test my writing skills) and with an official sequel apparently on its way (I think it's a sequel), it's gonna debunk my fanfic's story just like Naruto Shippuden debunked my very first planned fanfiction series
Naruto: Ryūden. For now, I have archived the first/obsolete version of my GG!DRA fanfic but I am also thinking about doing the same with my remade version if an official sequel does come out.
Q: Do you dislike Zatch Bell!/Konjiki no Gash!! now? [Added February 26, 2022]
A: No, I am just indifferent now. I used to be a fanboy but all that fanboy-ness completely drained away in 2018, as I said before. Taking my nostalgia goggles off and looking at the series from a different perspective, it's an "all right/good" series (7/10), but not amazing like
Attack on Titan (my current favorite anime/manga series and before it,
Naruto was my favorite anime/manga series). My fanboy-ness only came from my love of electrical powers and dragons. But I do admit that I really did have a lot of fun between 2014 and 2017. But once I got burnt out in 2018, I have later made attempts into getting back into the series but depressing things have happened and it had been too difficult getting back into the series since then. It's just not a series for me anymore and I have moved on to other things. But I am temporarily back just to archive my fanfic and make updates like these.
